Black brane vs Fundamental brane
p-branes can be divided into 2 types. The black p-branes in SUGRA are classical non-perturbative solutions that are similar to black hole solutions in classical gravity. These are not fundamental. For example, 10D SUGRA has a 1-brane, but it’s not fundamental. The fundamental things in 10D SUGRA are graviton, Majorana gravitino, Kalb–Ramond field, etc. But in 10D superstring theory, the 1-brane is actually an \href{https://ncatlab.org/nlab/show/F1-brane}{F1-brane} (fundamental string). Things like $g_{\mu\nu}$, $B_{\mu\nu}$ are not fundamental but just states of the closed string in string theory. Black branes are classical solutions made up of 0-brane (quantum) fields like graviton, Majorana gravitino, Kalb–Ramond field, etc. But Dp-branes or M-branes are fundamental in string/M-theory, and they are quantum objects.
